Buyer beware when purchasing a used car. Rosemary Shahan of Consumers for Auto Reliability and Safety (CARS) shares this YouTube video shows a news story about Jon Perz, a San Diego consumer who in 2007 bought a used car that shakes, rattles, and rolls. Despite evidence found by experts that the car had been flooded, the dealership refused to take it back, and told Perz that the wild vibrations are "normal." To make matters worse, Perz hired a lawyer but found that he couldn't file a court case because his contract contained a binding mandatory arbitration clause.

To preserve his good credit, Perz has had to keep making payments on the car he can't drive for 3 years. That's how long it has taken to get a hearing in arbitration. View the video, and if you are as outraged at the story as we are, leave a message of support for Perz.
