How six hypothetical households would fare under the McCain and Obama tax proposals. Both have said that they would implement their proposals gradually because of budget constraints. These examples assume that all of the proposals have been fully phased in and don’t include the temporary tax measures both candidates have proposed in response to the struggling economy.
